March is Red Cross Month
Noster Montas

Summit resident Rev. Noster Montas, a chaplain at Overlook Hospital, is the first volunteer from the Colonial Crossroads Chapter to deploy to Haiti to assist in the relief effort. Chapter Emergency Services Director Barb Flynn transported Rev. Montas to Newark Airport for his flight to Haiti on January 28th.
Montas will be deployed for five weeks. He will be working in support of the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces on the USNS Comfort as a Creole translator for Haitians who have been brought on board for medical treatment.
Montas is a member of the Red Cross Spiritual Care Team. “Rev. Montas is a great example of what it means to be a
volunteer for the American Red Cross,” says Barb Flynn, chapter emergency services director. “On one hour notice
he cleared his schedule for the
next month and made himself available for this difficult
deployment. “
