Red Cross Teaches St. Hubert’s Volunteers To Save Choking
People and Pets
MADISON (May 1, 2008) – Eileen Kelly (Long Valley, N.J.) practices life-saving skills during a recent
American Red Cross clinic at St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center that taught how to help a choking person or pet.
Presented by the Red Cross Colonial Crossroads Chapter, participants learned how to recognize when someone is choking
and how to clear the airway of a conscious choking adult, child or pet. The clinic was scheduled after a choking St.
Hubert’s volunteer was saved by a fellow volunteer with similar training.
