AED - Mass Training at College of Saint Elizabeth
Students will learn to recognize and handle emergency situations, care for breathing and cardiac emergencies,
perform CPR on adults, and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on victims of sudden cardiac arrest until

Adult CPR/AED plus Child and Infant CPR
Combines Adult, Child, and Infant CPR to teach participants to recognize and care for breathing and
cardiac emergencies in infants, children and adults; and understand the role of AEDs in the Cardiac
Chain of Survival, as well as use of AED’s on individuals 8 or older. Useful textbook helps students
retain skills and serves as a reference tool in an emergency.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
Teaches professional rescuers (those with a duty to act and provide care) the skills necessary to respond appropriately to
breathing and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac
arrest. Individuals that should attend this course are, but not limited to: Lifeguards, EMTs, Paramedics, Firefighters,
Police, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists., Athletic Trainers, EMS personnel, Nursing Students, Correctional
Officers, Ski Patrol, Wilderness-Based Staff, Allied Health Professionals

This course is to certify (re-certify) in Adult, Infant, Child CPR, AED, First Aid and/or CPR/AED for the Professional
Rescuer (if you need a pocket mask, additional cost of $15). You do not need to be currently certified to be tested.
The first 30-45 minutes are the precourse manikin practice and Q&A session, once challenge testing has begun, there will
be instructor PROMPTING ONLY, no coaching or assisting

Fundamentals of Instructor Training
Introduces instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross. Prepares
instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty classes to diverse populations. An instructor candidate
must complete an instructor specialty course within one year of completing Fundamentals of Instructor Training.

Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor
Teaches instructor candidates to plan, organize and conduct Lay Responder First Aid/CPR/AED courses,
including First Aid/CPR/AED for the Workplace, First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community, First
Aid-Responding to Emergencies, Blended Learning First Aid/CPR/AED and Sport Safety Training.
Prerequisites - Be at least 16 years old. Pass each section of the pre-course written exam with a score of least
80 percent. Demonstrate competence in the skills evaluation. You must be certified in FIT (see above)
within the last 12 months and successfully complete a pre-course session consisting of all skills required
to pass the basic CPR and First Aid classes, including written tests

Babysitter's Training
Open to boys and girls ages 11 and older, this course is packed with fun activities, exciting videos, lively
discussions and real-life problem-solving situations. Participants will practice first aid and basic care skills, and
also learn to:
- Interview for a babysitting job
- Make good, responsible decisions
- Supervise children
- Handle an emergency or illness
- Diaper, feed, and dress infants and children
- Respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies
- Feed infants and prepare simple meals and snacks for children
- Handle bedtime issues effectively
- Have fun with children and stay in control
- Choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games
- Adjust actions based on the age of the child
Fee includes the Babysitter's Handbook - a full-color, heavily illustrated, content-rich resource for
use in the course and on the job.

The chapter reserves the right to postpone or cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment, inclement weather,
instructor illness, or if the chapter has been mobilized for a disaster.

If you wish to reschedule your participation in a course, you must contact the chapter at least 24 hours prior to
the class.
Please arrive on time for class. Class is closed to latecomers after 15 minutes.
Courses with more that one date require attendance on all dates listed. Participants who do not attend all
sessions are not eligible to receive certification and forfeit all fees.
